# Q189: 你的成功之道是什么?(Your path to success?)
Duan Yongping:
Success comes from decades of consistency — doing right things and avoiding wrong ones. After many losses, those who keep learning will eventually grasp the “way.” But knowing right actions ≠ executing them well — that gap takes time to bridge. Once you’re on the right path, speed matters little; you’ll reach Rome eventually.
Duan Yongping:
Few embrace simplicity — people often equate complexity with sophistication. Like buying Moutai — seems boring, but it’s the purest form of value investing.
# Q191: 投资花多少时间?(Time spent on investing?)
Duan Yongping:
I spend less than 70 minutes weekly on investing — it’s not a priority anymore.
# Q192: 股票投资占家庭财富多大比例?(Stocks as % of family wealth?)
Duan Yongping:
I don’t track stock allocation — it doesn’t affect my life. Wealth freedom isn’t about size, but about choices. If your portfolio controls your life, rebalance.
# Q193: 什么是财务自由?(What is financial freedom?)
Duan Yongping:
Financial freedom means not doing unwanted tasks for money — spending time on what you love. Many can achieve this. Endless money ≠ freedom — most rich people still feel trapped.
# Q194: 钱多的坏处?(Downsides of too much money?)
Duan Yongping:
Earning money is a joy — too much wealth removes that thrill. Enough money is better than endless wealth; doing what you love matters more.
# Q195: 给朋友的致富建议?(Advice for friends on wealth-building?)
Duan Yongping:
Embrace getting rich slowly. Never use margin — it ruins both investors and businesses. Even I wish for faster wealth, but no shortcut exists. Chasing quick gains is riskier than it seems.
# Q196: 对你来说最重要的东西?(What matters most to you?)
Duan Yongping:
Priorities shift with age. Now: family, love, friendship. Loving your work matters more than wealth. Elite degrees help early but fade. Few truly seek passion; most chase paychecks.
# Q197: 如何找到喜欢的事?(How to find your passion?)
Duan Yongping:
Stay until you know it’s wrong — stop and explore. Passion reveals itself through trial.
Duan Yongping:
Investing is my hobby — lifelong pursuit. Golf mirrors investing: focus, no distractions. Breaking 80 reveals its joy. Gaming is no different — addiction isn’t the product’s fault. Regulate minors, not adults.
# Q199: 投资是事业吗?(Is investing a career or hobby?)
Duan Yongping:
Investing is a hobby — I beat S&P averages.
# Q200: “保守”成就了你?(Does “conservatism” define your success?)
Duan Yongping:
I’m not “conservative” — I prioritize long-term health over short-term risk. Buffett warned: 99 correct moves can be undone by 1 mistake. Business survival demands patience.
# Q201: 怎么保持平常心?(How to stay calm?)
Duan Yongping:
Calmness is innate. As Jack Ma said: “Ordinary people struggle to stay balanced — so true calmness is extraordinary.”
# Q202: 你愤怒过吗?(Have you ever been angry?)
Duan Yongping:
Yes, but anger never drives decisions. Buffett said he never gets angry — “It’s not worth it.”
# Q203: 性格改变了吗?(Did your personality change over time?)
Duan Yongping:
Personality resists change. Anytime is good to start. Effort isn’t teachable — values shape actions.
Duan Yongping:
Hire for values first, skills second. Companies with flawed values fail to pick right people.
# Q205: 你愿意跟谁交朋友?(Who’s your ideal friend?)
Duan Yongping:
Seek people with aligned values — authenticity matters. Values are principles; faking them won’t last.
# Q206: 交友方式?(How to build friendships?)
Duan Yongping:
I’m anti-social — networking drains energy. Fortune 500 CEOs share one trait: integrity. Friendship requires sincerity — quality over quantity.
Duan Yongping:
Give kids security through unconditional love and focused time — no transactional praise like “I love you if you win.” Let them explore; ditch parental authority — respect breeds independence.
# Q208: 最想跟儿子说什么?(Most important advice to son?)
Duan Yongping:
Actions speak louder than words — do right things, not just preach them.
Duan Yongping:
Most learn to validate their own views. Open-mindedness means absorbing wisdom, not picking flaws.
Duan Yongping:
Holding opinions isn’t bias — but seeing others’ perspectives helps.
Duan Yongping:
Read Buffett’s shareholder letters first, then his speeches. Understanding them is the only investing book you need.
